In July 2018, the TMGROUP will concentrate on its production and value-creation capacities in Schönebeck/Elbe.Due to the amendment to the Renewable Energies Act (EEG) that came into effect in 2017, and due to very strong international competition, onshore wind power has experienced a massive downturn. Compensation by way of commissions from other areas of business is not possible. After all options were considered, steel tower production and large-scale chipping are simply not economically viable in Dessau-Roßlau.

GSD Großanlagen- und Schwermaschinenbau Dessau GmbH and its sister company ZSD Zerspanung Dessau GmbH will shut down production in Dessau by 31.07.2018 according to plan. The 130 employees affected by the Dessau-Roßlau closures will be informed in a company meeting on 19.01.2018 and their employment contracts will end on 31.07.2018. Trainees will be offered the possibility to continue their training at another TMGROUP company, SFB Schönebecker Fahrzeugbau GmbH in Schönebeck/Elbe.

Considering the future competitiveness of the TMGROUP, the decision to close the Dessau-Roßlau factory and to consolidate the TMGROUP in Schönebeck was unavoidable.

The TMGROUP has offered their assurance that all outstanding contractual obligations owed by GSD Großanlagen- und Schwermaschinenbau Dessau GmbH and its sister company ZSD Zerspanung Dessau GmbH will be fulfilled in full.

The TMGROUP will concentrate on further diversification in the construction of machinery, equipment and vehicles at their Schönebeck/Elbe site. Current business relationships, future performance and contractual agreements will not be affected by the closure of the Dessau-Roßlau site. The TMGROUP will continue to enter into medium-term and long-term business relationships at their Schönebeck/Elbe site, and fulfil their contractual obligations with the reliability and respectability that their partners have come to expect.
